You can keep the "Extra Buffers" setting in the UAD-2 Control Panel disabled. Using the Apollo hardware/console and running an instance of one of the plug-ins from the new UAD 1176 Limiter Collection, in realtime, on my Fender Precision Bass is almost, dare I say it, like using the actual hardware! So far the real-time UAD processing is fantastic. I am in the process of getting my new Apollo QUAD up and running in REAPER. ![]() I have literally logged thousands of hours on REAPER using the UAD-2 plug-ins in the last 3+ years so I pretty much know how they both work, inside & out. But used as track, fx bus, mix bus fx they work flawlessly. Take a look at this thread, especially post #49:įYI, the UAD-2 platform works great with REAPER at it's default buffer/playback settings with the one exception of using the plug-ins on individual media clips (as clip FX), where the PDC can get out of whack.
